Hello and welcome to this experiment in online information-sharing! My name is Loyd Mehaffey and I have been a member of the SCBA since its founding. I've kept bees for the past six years, with varying degrees of success (lost my first hive to hive beetles, topped out at 30 active hives, then got hit again and am currently down to 12 active colonies). There's something new to be learned every day in the beeyard, both from successful approaches and from failures ... that said, I am an active learner in the world of honeybees! My other interests include gardening, reading, grandchildren (a great excuse for playing and being childlike again), and Freemasonry. See you on the forums!
